As most of you know from my previous pictures and posts on Facebook, I am obsessed with boot cuffs and socks this season. This trendy fashion statement adds character to your outfit, as well as, gives your boots a POP!
When you look at the picture below, you can see that I clearly had an #epicfail when I wore my fabulous boot socks out for a night of bowling. I sure did give the people there a good laugh.
Where can you shop for this look?
Boot Socks- Shi (you get grey, black and cream)
Boot Cuffs- http://www.etsy.com/shop/KnitWitCreations82
Fashion Tip 101- Quality boots are a must have, but get rather boring year after year. Adding a couple pairs of boot cuffs or socks to your wardrobe will update the look of your boots without the expense of a new pair.

Makeover Adventures: Part 1
I have been spending my extra time, snow days, and nights, while Jeremy is working, getting this house in order. There has been lots of tossing, organizing and shopping to make this happen, but I have truly loved every minute. I will blog about these home improvements as we complete them.
My first major makeover was my office closet. This closet was not being used to its fullest potential. I consulted my resident 'expert' on how we could make this happen.....after a trip to Lowe's and Walmart, my closet cubby was complete. Well, maybe I need just a few more decorative items - I think that calls for an IKEA trip!
I will be blogging about these fabulous makeovers and how your too can complete them.
Materials I used for my Closet Cubby:
Lowe's:
3 16in deep wire shelves
12 16in brackets
4 vertical wall-mounts
16 butterfly screws
1 22in deep pine desk top
4 small L brackets (to anchor desk top)
Walmart
A circular saw.....found out this is a must for all home, especially if you rely on me for measurements!!
Decorative storage a boxes, lamp, baskets, etc to make it cozy.
Happy Home Improving!!!

Winterizing a Maxi
We all love our maxi dresses in the summer....why not take them into winter?!? To winterize this comfy dress, all you need to do is add a sweater or cardigan over the dress, tights and boots. These added garments allow the feel of a maxi while keeping you warm. Add long necklaces or a scarf to give that added "dress up" it may need.
Where can you shop for this look?
This outfit is made up from simple tights from Target, a maxi dress and cardigan from Old Navy, boots from Macy's after winter sale (CHEAP) and my gorgeous accessories are Premiere Designs.
Fashion Tip 101: Premiere Jewelry is a fabulous way to get accessories and for FREE!! Ask me for details and I will send you a contact for more info.

Ten Years Later
I decided that I would enter Kathie Lee and Hoda's contest #tenyearslater to see if I could win a trip to NYC and have lunch with them. The point of the contest is to see how much you have changed over ten years for the better. Take a look and see what you think!! 😊

SnowDay Morning Treat
Today is our first snow day of the year, so I was able to enjoy coffee by the fire and a special treat....Cinnamon Rolls on the waffle maker! These are super easy, delicious and require little clean up!
Directions:
Preheat waffle maker
Spray with nonstick spray
Place cinnamon rolls in waffle maker
Let cook 2-3 minutes.
Cutting Calories Tip: Use reduced fat cinnamon rolls and pre-portion them All the flavor with less calories and you don't have to make them all (no added temptation).

Rocking the Brown & Black
I was completely against the thought of pairing black and brown together two years ago....but now it is one of my favorite trending styles. I should have listened to Kara Jo when she told me I could do this two years ago, but I was a chicken.
Where can you shop for this look?
This outfit is made up of simple black leggings from Target, a sequin tank from Express, a beige t-shirt and denim jacket from Old Navy, my $20 Macy's boots again, color blocked scarf from The Loft and my custom boot cuffs from KnitWit Creations (knitwitcreations.blogspot.com). The purse is a Michael Kors purse that I purchased at a purse party, which helps complete the outfit.
Fashion Tip 101: Having a purse party allows you to get purses, scarfs and other name brand accessories at a fraction of the cost.

It's Potpie...and a Cupcake...Who doesn't LOVE that?!?!?
Tonight I wanted something warm, hearty and homemade but didn't have the time or energy to put into making a full meal when it was so late. When I came across this recipe, I knew it would be a must try. Well....I am glad I did, this recipe is so easy and fulfilling.
From my kitchen to yours....enjoy and let me know how it turns out.
Ingredients
2 cups of cooked chicken breasts diced or a large can of chicken
1 can cream of chicken soup
1 cup frozen mixed veggies
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1/2 tablespoon of dried basil
1 teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon garlic powder
2 (10 oz) cans Pillsbury biscuits
Directions
Preheat your oven to 400.
In a large bowl, combine the cooked or canned chicken, cream of chicken soup, frozen veggies, cheese, herbs and spices.
Lightly grease a 12-cup muffin tin and place the Pillsbury biscuits into each cup, pressing into the bottom and up the sides.
Evenly spoon the pot pie mixture into each biscuit cup. Slide into the oven and bake for about 15 minutes. Check at the 12 minute mark.
Let rest for about 3 minutes ( I didn't do this and some fell apart) and dig in!

Cutting Calories 101: Use fat free cream of chicken, reduced fat biscuits and cheese...it tastes just as good and fewer calories.

Working in Style
My sorority sister, Armanda, wanted me to take pics of my Pinterest inspired outfits and send them to her everyday, so I decided to add them to my blog so all could see.
Where can you shop for this look?
This outfit has a simple grey pencil skirt and black tights from NY & Company, a solid black t-shirt from The Loft, an animal print scarf from Target and my Nine West clearance boots from Macy's. Very affordable and so stylish, which was confirmed by the compliments given at work today.
Fashion Tip 101: Shop after season for boots. Even though you may not be able to wear them for a while, you will be able to get multiple pairs for the price of one.

I Did it....
Well...I did it. I created a blog! I am not sure what I hope to get out of this, besides an outlet for some of my life stressors, but I thought I would give it a shot.
I am a 30 year old woman, who loves to shop, cook, and entertain. I love being surrounded by friends and family, and thrive on being liked and taking care of others. However, when my world came crashing down, I knew it was my turn to be helped.
I am excited to post my budget friendly fashion ideas, food, and other fantastic things (maybe Pinterest inspired) to encourage other people to get inspired. I am excited about getting followers, as well as, creating new means of communicating with others.
So sit back, grab a glass of wine, and enjoy what you read.
